A fun and engaging summer jazz experience designed especially for middle school musicians. Students build improvisation, ensemble skills, and musical confidence while learning from experienced jazz educators and performers in a supportive and encouraging environment.
The camp has expanded this year into a full five-day experience with a Sunday evening kickoff and audition session to place students in the best combos and ensembles for the week. Each day includes combos, masterclasses, big band rehearsal, jam sessions, and group activities that help students grow both musically and socially.
The week concludes with a dress rehearsal and Student Showcase Concert, where campers perform for family, friends, and the community at NNU's Little Theatre.
Middle School camp is offered as a Day Camp (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM) and includes all instructional sessions, camp materials, and activities. Each student also receives the 2026 Camp T-Shirt, worn during Friday’s rehearsal and group photo.
After registration, families will also have the option to add afternoon private lessons and after-hours combo sessions for students who want additional coaching and performance opportunities during camp week (more info to come!)
Registration is limited by instrument to maintain balanced ensembles. Early registration is recommended to secure your spot!

Some instrument sections fill quickly to maintain balanced ensembles. If your section is full, you can join the waitlist and we will contact families in order if a spot opens.
